Systems and Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
As a Network Engineer you are responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of the network infrastructure, which configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, as well as monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements, design scalable solutions, and implement security measures is crucial. Strong technical expertise in network protocols, security protocols, and troubleshooting methodologies is essential, along with effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders. The ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry best practices is also key in this dynamic role.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain on-premises network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Design and implement cloud network architectures, utilizing services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Ensure WAN performance and network quality of service provide level 3 & level 4 support for resolving network issues and document corrective actions.
- Integrate on-premises networks with cloud environments to create hybrid architectures.
- Implement security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs to protect both on-premises and cloud networks.
- Configure security groups, network access control lists (ACLs), and other cloud-specific security features to protect cloud resources.
- Conduct security audits and implement best practices to ensure network security in both environments.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues in both on-premises and cloud environments using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or cloud-native monitoring services.
- Optimize network performance by analyzing traffic patterns, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
- Implement auto-scaling and load balancing solutions in cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Automate routine network tasks and configurations using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage and provision network resources in both on-premises and cloud environments.

- Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) strategies for both on-premises and cloud networks.
- Replicate critical data and services across geographically dispersed locations to mitigate the impact of disasters.
- Conduct regular DR drills and testing failover procedures to ensure readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and security professionals, to achieve common goals.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions to internal teams on network-related topics and best practices.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in networking technologies, cloud services, and security practices.
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies that could enhance network performance, security, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) regarding network security and data protection.
- Implement governance policies and controls to enforce security and compliance requirements in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Required Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- Required Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field experience required. Minimum 10 years of experience supporting local and wide area networks including network redundancy.
- Minimum 10 years supporting multi data center networking environment Advanced level understanding and hands-on experience in network switching and network routing and routing protocols.
- Must have hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and supporting various networking technologies, such as Cisco Nexus switches and ASR routers, Juniper and HP switches, wireless access points.
- Expert with routing protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QOS, SNMP Strong networking, and technical skills with an emphasis on LAN/WAN technology, network monitoring /management.
- Experience working with Cisco Nexus 7 K and 9 K (Cisco ACI) Cisco Wireless would be great to have CCNP preferred or equivalent experience Juniper M/T/MX series routers.
- Experience with Cisco Wireless Infrastructure design and implementation.
- Required to work closely with vendors and partners on the implementation of products, services, and projects.
- Ensure security, redundancy, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with State/Clients IT compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Require to perform Firmware Upgrade and Support of Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Client, and NAC if necessary for Vulnerability management.
- Conduct regular system audits, prepare detailed documentation, and report on system health and project progress.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in network technologies and Cisco products, applying this knowledge to improve current processes.
- Perform design and Documentation – Network Discovery, inventory, Diagrams, and Static Device List.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders.
